You might need a bit of help orientating yourself with the video art map. If the FAQs below don't answer your question then please send us an email.
Simply click on one of the thumbnail images on the map and a video window for that location will open. Click on the video to start watching. If you click on the video a second time you will be taken to either the YouTube or Vimeo website where you can view the video in full screen mode.
You can click and drag the map to see other parts of the city or you can zoom in by by using the zoom control on the left hand side of the map - it works in exactly the same way as a regular Google Map.
We've integrated Google Streetview so you can explore the locations where the videos were shot while you watch them. If you find that the Streetview box is getting in the way you can hide it by clicking the "Hide Streetview" checkbox.
This is only a version 1 of the VAM application so at the moment it doesn't feature an integrated video upload function. This means that you first have to upload your video to YouTube or Vimeo before you can add it to the map.
If you don't have an account with YouTube or Vimeo and would like to create one now click on one of the links below.
If you have an account with YouTube or Vimeo and have uploaded your video then you're ready to add it to the map. All you need to do is click on the map in the location where the video was shot and you will be presented with a simple form to complete. You will be asked to enter your name, email address, the title of your video and a few other useful bits of information. Don't worry, we won't share your email address with anyone!
Probably the most important piece of information we require in the URL of the video so we can link to it from YouTube or Vimeo. You must enter the full URL of your video (including the 'http://' bit) otherwise we won't be able to find it.
